Obituary for Edward C. Pecinosky Sr.
Edward C. Pecinosky Sr., III, age 71, long time resident of Tipton, died Monday, March 27th, 1989, morning at his home following a lengthy illness. Graveside services have been set for Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Elk City Cemetery, officiated by The Reverend Johnny Tims. Arrangements are with Pecinosky Funeral Home of Tipton with Lowell Funeral Home of Altus assisting.
Born August 10, 1917 at Canute, OK. He was the son of Edward and Agnes Antonia Pecinosky. He moved to Elk City where he attended school graduating from Elk City High School. He later attended Indiana College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1936. After graduating he went to work for the Martin-Hullum Funeral Home in Elk City until World War II when he joined the U.S. Navy serving in the Medical Corps. He was a Past Master of the Elk City Masonic Lodge, Past Commander of the VFW, Past President of the Lions Club, member of the Chapter Council Comandry of the VFW, member of the Altus Trap Shooters Organization, Retired Volunteer Fireman, and long time member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Juanita Morrow January 16, 1938 at Elk City. They purchased the Benton Funeral Home in Tipton in 1951 and have operated the Pecinosky Funeral Home since that time.
Survivors include: his wife, Juanita of the home; two daughters, Betty Jean Stresky of Ardmore, OK and Judy Logan of Chickasha, OK; two sons, Phillip Pecinosky of Tipton and Charles Pecinosky of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father; a sister, Florence Bates.
