Obituary for Edward Christopher Evans
Ed Evans age 70, of Blair died December 24, 2010, at his home in Blair, Oklahoma. He was born September 2, 1940, at Columbus, Ohio to the late Paul Leo Evans and Leona Mae (Byers). He married Valorie Denton January 2, 1995, in Fort Wayne Indiana. He was a long time real estate agent in Jackson County having worked for Main Realty. He moved to Jackson County in February in 2006 from Duluth, Minnesota. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus, a long time member of the Westmoreland Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC where he served as a deacon, former member of the National Ski Patrol, a Junior National Director conducting Seminars for Junior Ski Patrols throughout the United States, an instructor for American Red Cross, member of the Chamber of the Eagle River Chamber, Alaska, member of the Eagle River Rotary Club of Alaska, was a director in charge of erecting the Town Square Park in Eagle River Alaska and a member of the Ohio Bowhunters Association.
Preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his wife Valorie of the home, sons; Danny Ray Evans, Paul Drew Evans of Boston, Mass. daughter, Christina, brother James Paul Evans of Seattle, Washington; sister Mrs. Patricia E. Hentrick of Dayton, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Andrew Evans, Christopher Evans, step-children, Eric Scott Patton, Kevin Lyle Patton of Seattle, Washington.
Memorial services for Ed Evans will be held Saturday, January 1, 2011, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Altus, with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. The family of Ed Evans will greet friends from 6 to 9 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Friday, December 31, 2010.
Memorials in honor of Ed Evans may be made to the Gideons or the charity of one's choice.
