Obituary for Edwardo Serna
Edwardo Serna, Sr. a beloved resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away on September 27, 2024, at Oklahoma Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on October 14, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Enrique and Francisca Serna. In 1968, the Serna family relocated to South Bend, Indiana, where Edwardo was raised and educated, eventually attending Washington High School.
In the summer of 1986, Edwardo met Elizabeth, and they fell deeply in love. Together, they raised three children, Edwardo Jr., Inez and Jesse. A dedicated long-haul truck driver in the oil industry, Edwardo worked tirelessly to provide for his family, whom he cherished above all else. His life was filled with a deep love for storytelling, laughter, and unforgettable moments-whether he was sharing jokes, reminiscing about the past, practicing kung fu, or showing off his break dancing moves. He had a magnetic personality that could light up any room.
In 2006, Edwardo moved to Mangum, Oklahoma, to be closer to his family and to provide a better life for them. It was there that he found peace and comfort in God, and in 2008, he was baptized in the Church of God, devoting his heart and soul to the Lord. His faith and his family were his greatest sources of joy, and he treasured every moment spent with his loved ones.
Edwardo was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Francisca Serna. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Serna; his children, Edwardo Serna., Inez Serna, and Jesse Serna; his siblings, Enrique Serna Jr., David Serna, Juanita Herandez, Victor Serna, and Linda Huerta; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Edwardo's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
