Obituary for Effie Eula Henderson
Effie Eula Henderson 89, of Eldorado, passed away Friday, June 6, 2003, at the Ranchwood Nursing Home in Yukon.
Effie was born December 12, 1913, in Eldorado, Oklahoma, to John C. and Virginia Elizabeth (Baker) Weddle. She married Truman Sullivan Henderson February 17, 1929, in Quanah, Texas. The couple moved back to the Jackson County area in 1930 from Chillicothe, Texas. Effie helped her husband in his farming and ranching operation and they owned and operated a retail and wholesale Magnolia service station in Eldorado for fifteen years. She was also a homemaker and loving wife, mother, and a grandmother. She was a member of the Lion's Club and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Eldorado.
Effie is survived by tow daughters, Mona Malone and her husband Jack of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Jerrye Gilliam and husband Wayne, also of Mustang; three grandchildren, Lynn Malone and wife Marlene, Carolyn Day and husband David, and Tonys Dickman and husband Ronnie, all of Yukon, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and nine brothers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 9, at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado with Reverend Billy Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
