Obituary for Effie M. Ellis
Effie M. Ellis, age 83, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, March 24th, 1998 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Effie was born October 17th, 1914 in Lewisville, Texas to the late Roy D. and Beulah (Harn) Lott. Effie graduated from High School at Martha. On September 10, 1938 in Altus, she and LeRoy Ellis were united in marriage. He preceded her in death October 28, 1981. Effie and LeRoy had been lifelong residents of Altus. Effie worked for Main Cleaners as a clerk, retiring in the late 1970's. She was a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 26th, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. David Chittenden officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Ellis and his wife Judy of Altus, Roy Ellis and his wife Shirley of Fountain Valley, CA; three sisters, Margaret Bishop of Sapulpa, OK, Helen Lanning and her husband Steve of Amarillo, TX and Dorothy McFaddin of Palm Springs, CA; one sister-in-law, Sharon Lott of Altus, OK; four granddaughters, Rhonda Jones and husband Mark, Terry Frazier and husband Jeff all of Frisco, TX, Janet Gagnon and husband Mike and Tammy Ellis all of Garden Grove, CA; six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband LeRoy Ellis and two brothers, R.D. Lott and Bobby Lott.
