Elizabeth (Lizzie) Gilbert age 92, of Altus, Oklahoma died November 12, 1890 at the Altus House Nursing Home in Altus.
Lizzie was born July 13, 1890 in Grayson County, Texas to Taylor and Lula (Bates) Austin. She married T. J. Gilbert in 1904. T. J. preceded Lizzie in death in 1970. One son Billy, also preceded her in death in 1960. She had lived most of her life in Altus. Lizzie was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services for Elizabeth Gilbert are scheduled for Monday, November 15, 1982 at 10:00 am in Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. Carl McCoy. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Lizzie is survived by three sons, Johnny Gilbert, of Altus, Oklahoma; Jessie Gilbert, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; J. P. Gilbert, of Edmond, Oklahoma; eleven grand children, fourteen great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Rentro, Altus, Oklahoma.
