Elsie Perry Age 77, former Altus resident passed away February 8, 2000 at St. Joseph Hospital in Stockton, California. She was born May 11, 1922 in Dime Box, Texas to Lee and Katie Martin. She married Tom Perry and he preceded her in death in 1962.
Elsie was a long time member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Altus and served as an usher for several years. She was devoted member of her church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters: Rosie Willis and her husband Jimmy of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ruth Perry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five sons, Thomas Perry of Oakland, California, Emanuel Perry of Chesapeake, Virginia, Benny Perry and his wife Barbara of Manteca, California, Harry Perry of Oakland, California, Henry Perry and Wife Carolyn of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Husband, Tom Perry; two sisters, Ossie Adams and Ruby Franklin; three brothers, Lee martin, Jesse Martin, and Roosevelt Martin.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Brought9on officiating. Internment will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
