Obituary for Elva Juel Gober
Elva Juel (Daniel) Gober died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held Friday, March 16, 2001 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Barr officiating. burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Elva was born December 18, 1908 in Hastings, Oklahoma to Van Nellie (Mullins) Daniel. She married the Rev. Carson C."Whitey" Gober on October 24, 1923 in Hastings. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and particularly enjoyed her role as a Methodist minister's wife. She also worked as a florist and seamstress.
She is survived by her son, Rondoll Gober and wife Mary Ellen of Altus; a sister, Duron Smith of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Shari and Lynn Goodwin of Tulsa, Ron and Kelly Gober of Tulsa, Lisa Gober of Oklahoma City, and Nyneen and Rick Mercer of Altus; and great grandchildren, Christy and Julie Goodwin, Jeremy and Jarred Hicks, and Carson and S
Austin Gober.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Vanda Hixson, two brothers and one sister.
