Obituary for Elvirra Etta Baughier
Elvirra "Etta" Baughier, age 89, former resident of Duke, Oklahoma died at the Ennis Care Center in Ennis, Texas on Friday. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rock Cemetery near Duke under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, Oklahoma.
Born May 30, 1912 at Hollis, Oklahoma she was the daughter of Hugh and Mary Bullard. She was a graduate of Carter High School and Plainview Business College. She married Orlin Baughier on May 15, 1940 at Carter, Oklahoma. They moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma where they lived 39 years and where she was active in business and community affairs. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Oklahoma Home Demonstration Club and was the church organist at the Country Estates Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, gardening and was an avid reader.
Her husband and parents preceded her in death. As well as sisters, Clessie, Clara and Maudie. Also brothers, Lee and Hubert.
Survivors include: one son, James Baughier and his wife Dinah of Midlothian, TX; two sisters, Hazel Rockhold of Kansas City KS and Marilyn Eldridge of Hemet, CA; two grandchildren, Mark Slaten of Waxahachie, TX and Barry Baughier of Rockwall, TX; two great-grandchildren, Toni and Brittany Slaten of Waxahachie, TX.
