Obituary for Erma Irene Easley
Erma Irene Easley, age 96, longtime Eldorado, Oklahoma resident, passed away Monday, December 2, 2002. Graveside Services have been scheduled fort 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at the Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Irene was born August 14, 1906 in Dublin, Texas. She was the daughter of Charles Rufus and Mary Jane (Prater) White. Irene was proud of the fact that she was the first graduate to receive a diploma from Midway High School, with one year being accredited to college hours....and she accomplished this at the age of 16. On December 6, 1924, in Eldorado, Oklahoma, Irene and Virgil Moss Easley were united in marriage. They had many happy years together before he passed away in June of 1969.
Irene was a member of the Assembly of God church in Dumas, Texas. She had been attending the First Baptist Church in Eldorado since the early 1970's after she returned to live here.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.R.; two infant daughters, Betty Jean and Alma Coleen; two brothers, Hiram White and Delbert White; and by six sisters, Francis Jay, Willie Nowell, Vera Easley, Leola Hopkins, Juanita Odom and Marguerite Miller.
She is lovingly survived and will be deeply missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
