Obituary for Esther Munoz Villalba
Esther Munoz Villalba, 80, resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away on December 21, 2020, in her home peacefully in her bed. Esther was known to many as Vita. She was born on November 13, 1940, to Martin and Valentina Munoz in Utopia, Texas.
At the age of 14, she started her family. She had 10 children, 39 grandchildren, and 63 great-grandchildren. Esther’s family started in Oklahoma. In the 1970’s she moved to Illinois. In the late 1990’s she returned to Oklahoma to make her final home.
Esther was a homemaker. In 2001 she founded a deep love in Jesus Christ. She was known for her great love for her Father Martin and her delicious tortillas, antiquing and feeding the birds. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would offer advice to all those who would listen. She was an inspiration and mentor to all her children. She was the mother and father to all her children and some grandchildren. Everyone called her Mom. Her favorite saying was “Dios te bendiga.” She had the gift of hard love and respect. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by 8 children, Emma Garcia of Winter Haven, FL, Josie Aviles and Husband Eric Aviles of Texas, Charlene Romero of Bourbonnais, IL, Charlotte Romero of Kankakee, IL, Irene Guzman and Husband Cesar Guzman of Kankakee, IL, Carlos Varelas and Wife Sandra Varelas of Columbia, South Carolina, Fernando Villalba and Wife Angela Villalba of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Gabriel Villalba of Altus, Oklahoma.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 2 grandchildren.
