Obituary for Estine Stricklen Bevers
Estine Stricklen Bevers, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Estine was born in Arkansas on February 22, 1919. she was a former resident of Blair Oklahoma and had lived in Los Fresnos, Texas for the past 13 years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She survived by her husband, J.T. Bevers of Los Fresnos, whom she married on December 14, 1935 in Blair, Oklahoma. As a wife and mother, she helped on the farm until the 1960's, when she became a bookkeeper at Altus Supply. Estine is also survived by her brother, John F. Stricklen of Overland Park, Kansas; sister, Eunice Marple of Lawton, Ok., Children, Charles Ray Bevers of Brownsville, Tx. Eugene Darrell Bevers, of Los Fresnos, Texas,, Hohn Terrell Bevers, of Dallas, Texas and Lazette Bevers Chang-Yit, of Plymouth, MN. 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Estine Bevers are scheduled for 2 pm Saturday May 5, 2001 at the First Baptist Church of Blair, with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating.Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
