Fairy Caroline Long Rippetoe
Fairy Caroline (Long) Rippetoe. 85, passed away Saturday, February 4, l995 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was ;born August 22, l909 in Altus, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late B.B. and Edna Voorhies.
Fairy married Elmer Long in l929 and he passed away in l960. On April 21, l0963, Fairy and Orville J. Rippetoe were united in marriage. Mr. Rippetoe preceded her in death in 1982.
Mrs. Rippetoe was the life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. She was a retired telephone operator with over 30 years of service in Altus. She was a long time and active member if the First Baptist Church and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Mrs. Rippetoe was preceded in death by two husbands, Elmer Lone and Orville J. Rippetoe; and three brothers, Ray, Oran and Lonnie Voorhies.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Evelyn Long of Altus, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, TrulaMae and Woodrow Hayes of Altus, Oklahoma; one granddaughter and her husband, Shearl and Mike Davis of Blair, Oklahoma; two Great-grandchildren, Crystal and Mickie Davis of Blair, Oklahoma, one niece, Janet Couillard of Lincoln, Nebraska, Great Nieces and nephews, Shelley and Kevin Haskett of Chicago, Illinois and Jason Merkel of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
