Obituary for Fermin Delarosa, Sr.
It is with great sadness we announce that Fermin DeLaRosa, Sr. passed away on August 23, 2025. Fermin was born on May 2, 1958 in Plainview, Texas to Sebastian and Consuelo DeLaRosa. He was preceded in death by his siblings Carmen Rodriguez, Juan DeLaRosa, and Gloria Ramos.
Fermin is survived by Judy DeLaRosa, son Fermin DeLaRosa Jr., Connie, Nicole and granddaughter Karis and grandson Isaiah. And his siblings Simona (Jesse) Molina, Mary (David) Siefker, Alice Trevino, Margarita (Larry) Dwyer, Sebastian (Christina) DeLaRosa, Rosa (Paul) Caserta, Frances (Oscar) San Luis, Joe DeLaRosa, and many nieces and nephews. He and his eleven brothers and sisters were very close, and he will be greatly missed.
Fermin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1978, and was Honorably Discharged in 1982. He went on to work for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for over 20 years. Throughout his life, Fermin embodied the Marine Corps values of honor, courage, and commitment - Semper Fi. He carried the spirit of service long after his time in uniform ended. He was a proud Marine veteran, great father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Everyone that knew him will definitely miss his crazy jokes, contagious laugh, and quick wit. He always had a happy and generous spirit, and he simply enjoyed life. He was a humble man who was always willing to help others.
