Frances Jo Otto, 87, a long-time resident of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away June 29, 2023, at Colonial Manor II in Hollis, Oklahoma.
On February 3, 1936, in Hollis, Oklahoma Terrel "Fats” Boyd and his wife Glen (Byrd) Boyd welcomed their daughter to this world. Frances was raised in Ron and Arnett, Oklahoma. She attended school in Ron before transferring to Wellington, Texas where Frances graduated High School in 1954. In 1960 Frances married Gene Harold Harrison, and they made their home in Amarillo. This marriage would be blessed with three children, Stacy, Curtis, and Tammy. Frances was a devoted mother and wife who enjoyed doting on her family. On May 22, 1978, Frances's life would be forever altered when her husband Gene passed away. Frances raised her three children with great pride and selfless hard work. On May 10, 1979, Frances married Allie Lee Otto, Jr. Soon, Frances, Allie, and the children returned home to Hollis, Oklahoma. In 1988, Frances started working for Dr. Moline Shafer in Hollis, Oklahoma as a receptionist. In the clinic, Frances became known for kindness and a sympathetic ear, who could be counted on by the people of Hollis to help in any way she could. In 2008 she retired at the age of seventy- two. Frances was always on the go, and she was hardly ever idle and always enjoyed a new project or looking to have a conversation with a stranger. She loved people, she was invested in family, friends, and even strangers. Frances was a very non-judgmental person who always saw the good in people, and truly believed we were all family in the eyes of God. Because of all the affection and kindness Frances showed to others she was referred to as “Grandma” by her community. Frances leaves a legacy of kindness, devotion to family, and of love of people and her community in Southwest Oklahoma.
Frances was preceded in death by her father, Terrel "Fats" Boyd; mother, Glen (Byrd) Boyd; husbands, Gene Harold Harrison, Allie Lee Otto; daughter, Tammy Taylor; and sister, Sandra Simmons.
Left to honor her memory are her daughter, Stacy Macias, son, Curtis Harrison and wife Lynda, grandchildren, Traci Earls, Tosha Chesar and husband John, Shala Harrison, Aric Walton, twelve great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and friends whom Frances considered family.
Viewing will be Monday, July 3, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2023, at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma with interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Hollis, Oklahoma.
