Obituary for Frances LaDean Wynn
FRANCES LADEAN WYNN – Frances L. Wynn, 77, died peacefully on June 28, 2022, at Hillside Nursing Home in Gatesville, Texas. She was born October 3, 1944, in Mangum, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roby Elmer Wynn and Lela Frances (Meason) Miller.
Frances graduated from Mangum High School, Class of 1962. Following graduation, she received her license in cosmetology. After working several years as a licensed cosmetologist Frances started working in new home construction in Amarillo, Texas. After mastering the skill of hanging wallpaper she owned and operated her own wallpaper hanging business alongside her son Glen. After several years Frances moved back to Mangum, Oklahoma and began her career with the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite, Oklahoma. Frances started her career in administration and worked her way up to a Unit Manager before retirement.
Along with the love Frances had for her family and friends, Frances had a passion for music. She had a singing voice of an angel. Music was a part of her life from the time she was a small child until her elder years. Frances was a member of several choir groups in school and in church and began writing her own lyrics in high school. Frances was also very witty. People who knew her would never leave her presence without a smile. She was quick-witted, impulsive, and loved a good joke.
Frances was predeceased by her father, Roby Elmer Wynn and mother, Lela (Kitty) Frances Miller. Frances was survived by her son Charles Glen Lewis of Gatesville, Texas. Granddaughter Jessica Leigh Wetsel and husband Bradley of Mangum, Oklahoma. Granddaughter Alicia Rene’e Lewis and husband Chris Galiana of Copperas Cove, Texas.
Three great-grandsons Ashton Wetsel and Roper Toney of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Aiden Berridge of Copperas Cove, Texas. Two sisters Waniece Bull and Syvilla Wynn of Mangum, Oklahoma. Two aunts, one uncle, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6th at Rose Lawn Cemetery, OK-9, Mangum, Oklahoma 73554. Family and Friends are welcome to come and enjoy her celebration of life.
