Obituary for Francis Lorene Hastings
Roger Logan Heath was born in Youngstown, Ohio. He entered the USAF immediately after high school and worked his way from an enlisted airman to a commissioned officer. He met his wife, Ann Lapke, in San Antonio where she was an Army nurse. He is a veteran of the war in Southeast Asia where he was a navigator on C-141 aircraft. He came back to the states and went to pilot training. He then returned to Southeast Asia as a pilot of the F-100 aircraft. He retired as a Major and was an Instructor Pilot on the C-141 in 1980 here at Altus Air Force Base.

Following retirement he worked with Halliburton in the oil fields for two years before joining Altus Airlines as a pilot. Roger was also an Instructor Pilot for beginning fliers. He was a member of the WOSC Flying Club in Altus. He was active in several youth activities including assisting in coaching in the YMCA soccer and basketball programs, a booster for all the Navajo school athletic events and a member of the Parents Supporting Group for the Tidal Waves of Altus swim team.

Survivors include: his wife, Ann of the home; a daughter, Heather; two sons, Michael and David; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Johnson of Laurel, MD and Mrs. Trudy Gigliotti of Coral Springs, FL; a brother, Mr. John Heath, also of Coral Springs, FL.

A Rosary will be held on Sunday at 7:30 P.M. at the Lowell Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 12 Noon on Monday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
