Obituary for Geraldine Hillis
Geraldine Hillis, age 66, a lifelong resident of Hollis, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Geraldine was born in Collingsworth County Texas on October 18, 1954 to her parents Herman L. Osborn and Myrtle L (Leonard) Osborn. Geraldine graduated from Hollis High School and attended college and beauty school. She worked at the sewing factory before she went to work at Westview Boys Home where she worked for over twenty-three years and she also worked at the Colonial Manor II Nursing Home as a Dietary Specialist before retiring. She married the love of her life Bob Hillis and they have enjoyed well over 45 years of marriage together. Geraldine enjoyed working puzzles, playing sudoku, crocheting, she loved baking with her granddaughters, and she treasured all the time she could spend with her family where she loved attending all her children's and her grandchildren's school and sporting activities and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents Herman and Myrtle Osborn; her son Robert Hillis; her twin sister, Bernadine McInturf; her brother, Ruben Osborn; niece, Cristi Morenzo; and nephew, Dustin Wheeler; Geraldine is survived by her husband Bob Hillis of their home in Hollis; daughter Michelle Palmer and her husband Michael of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Burr Osborn and his wife Patsy of Colbert, Oklahoma; and Raymond Osborn and wife Suzi of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Leslie Dawn Palmer; and Michaela Rob Palmer; nephew Junior McInturf and his wife Narissa of Childress, Texas; as well as numerous other family members and many friends.
Viewing hours will be from 1:00 am until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 2021 at the Church of the Nazarene in Hollis with Pastor Bart Kirchoff officiating.
Interment will follow at the Westview Cemetery, 3 miles west of Hollis on HW 62 under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
