Obituary for Gertrude Gail Cobb
Gertrude Gail Cobb age 92 of Altus, Oklahoma was born February 22, 1905, in NcNairy Country, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Jacob Wilson and Lucy (Bishop) Austin. She came to Altus in 1991 from Wellington, Texas. Mrs Cobb passed away Saturday, April 5, 1997, in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am Tuesday, April 8, 1997 in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Tex Cobb officiating. Burial will be at 2;30 pm Tuesday, in the Garden of Memories in Puducah, Texas, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, Oklahoma. On December 24, 1921, she and Weldon James Cobb were united in marriage at Childress County, Texas. Mr Cobb preceded her in death, February 2, 1954. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include children; Wilma Jo Shaw and husband Jim of Atlanta, Georgia, Tex Cobb of Altus, Oklahoma,Louise Isbell and husband Lawrence of Arlington, Texas, Emily Oney and husband J.B. of Weatherford, Texas, Kathryn Biddy and husband Gaylon of Elmer, Oklahoma, Tommy Dilbeck and husband Dennis of El Reno, Oklahoma, Bobby Cobb and wife, Mary Lee of Canyon, Texas, Beezie Jackson and husband, Wayne of Lubbock, texas, Freddie Cobb and wife Bernice of Thoreau, New Mexico, Jimmy Cobb and wife Dorothy of Atlanta, Georgia; 28 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, her husband; Weldon James Cobb on February 2, 1954, 2 sons Rex Cobb who died in infancy and W.G. Cobb in 1956.
