Obituary for Gertrude Helene Tock
Gertrude Helene Tock, age 77, of Altus, Oklahoma, died Friday, July 31st, 1992 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Larson and Rev. McClellan. Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Trudie was born February 16th, 1915 at Benson, MN. She married Vernon Nelson Tock October 16, 1943 at Dwight Chapel, Yale University , Conn. She had been a resident of Altus since August 1961. She was a member and active worker at the Faith Lutheran Church. She owned and operated Trudie's Beauty Salon in Minnesota. She did lapidary work at Goose Bay Labrador and Riverside, CA. She had served with the Voluntary Red Cross, Officers Wives Club, Base Chapel, Family Support Center, Thrift Shop, was a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader and volunteered with numerous projects of the United Way. She was an active member of the PTA and served as homeroom Mother. She was a faithful minister to memories, making sure no special event was forgotten.
Survivors include: two children, Terri G. Postlethwait of Muskogee, OK and Tanya Rae Stidd of Midwest City, OK; a brother, Ervin Guse of Minnesota; three sisters, Edna Ahrndt, Alma Rekstad and Lydia Johnson of Minnesota; two grandchildren, Desiree Stidd of Midwest City, OK and Sydney Sevier of Muskogee, OK.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Vernon Nelson Tock in 1991; seven brothers and sisters.
