Obituary for Glen Southall
Glenn Southall was born October 19, 1935 at Humpherys, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Robert C. and Ruth (Gray) Southall. He died November 3, 2001 in Altus, Oklahoma.

Glenn married his wife Ida Jo, August 29, 1959 at the First United Methodist Church in Altus.

After graduating High School, he attended Oklahoma State University. He then served in the US Navy from 1955-1958.

He was a business entreprenuer, which included Real Estate and farming. Glenn was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson county. He served on the Jackson County Excise Board, the owner of 1st cotton Module builder in this region, was named outstanding Young Farmer in 1968 by the Altus Jaycees, was a member of the Altus Rotary Club, a 32nd degree Mason, Salutatorian of Humphrey High School in 1953, was appointed Oklahoma State Transportation Commissioner by Gov. David Boren, was appointed to the United States Cotton Council by President Jimmy Carter, a member of the Oklahoma State ASCS Committee, was named Realtor of the year in 1989, served as President of the Altus Board of Realtors, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Ida Jo Southall of Altus, Oklahoma; three children, Brent and Debbie Southall of Altus, Oklahoma, Kristi and Jeffrey graham of Walters, Oklahoma, Kelly Southall of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Pauline Pool of Lubbock, Texas, Bobbie Pitts of Bridgeport, Texas; four grandchildren, Caitlyn Blair Southall, Robert Read Southall, Colin Layne Graham, and Jason Kyle Graham.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Katherine Hudson.

Services for Glenn are scheduled for 2pm Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at the 1st United Methodist Church in Altus with Rev. Doug Burr officiating.

Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

The family of Glenn Southall will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Monday November 5, 2001 from 6-8 pm.

Memorials in honor of Glenn may be made to Jackson County Hospice or the Family Life Center at the 1st United Methodist Church.
