Obituary for Glenneth Dale McGee
Glenneth Dale McGee, 85, of Hollis, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Glenneth “Cotton†was born March 18, 1935 to O.B. and Allie (Robinson) McGee in Hollis, Oklahoma. He graduated from La Casa High School in 1953. He married Ila Claudine Tucker on September 1, 1958 in Hollis, Oklahoma. He graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1958. Later he returned to receive a Master’s Degree in Education. He taught school for seven years in Amarillo, Texas before returning home to Hollis where he taught for the remainder of thirty-two years. He was a school administrator for many of his years of employment. Glenneth has been a member of the Church of Christ for over seventy years.
Glenneth is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Claudine McGee; his four children, Greg McGee and wife Leona of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Kevin McGee of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Lisa Sanders and husband Jeff of Hollis, Oklahoma; and Gary McGee and wife Cara of Mangum, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, Derek McGee, Candra McGee, Kelsey Schones, Melodi McGee, Cason Sanders, Cole McGee, Kelissa Gordon, Tucker McGee, Kade Sanders, Cammi McGee, Chloe Sanders, Chi Sanders, Emi Sanders, Ila Sanders, and Eva Sanders; eleven gret-grandchildren, Will McGee, Jake Perry, Shane Perry, Johnathan McGee, Evelyn McGee, Weston Schones, Ellie Schones, Sophie Schones, Khi Wilson, Oliver Gordon, and Theodore Gordon; one sister-in-law, Pauline McGee; special family, Donna and Bart Plummer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his parents, O.B. and Allie McGee; brothers, Blant, Blair, Travis, and Kenneth; sisters, Pauline, Irene, and Louise.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be sent to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Hollis School Foundation in memory of Glenneth McGee.
Private Family Graveside Funeral services will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
