HAUN
Grace Nell Boswell Haun, age 92, of Mangum, passed away Tuesday evening, January 24, 2012, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Nell, as she preferred to be known by family and friends, was born June 15, 1919, at Ladessa, Oklahoma, one of six children of Thomas Fulton and Bessie Lena (Muncy) Olive. She grew up and attended school in the area and on October 15, 1940, she married Loyd Odell Boswell. Shortly after their marriage they moved to California where they made their home for several years. Upon their return to Altus, Loyd and Nell opened and ran a restaurant. Shortly after returning to Altus, the couple celebrated the birth of their son, Michael Thomas, and later the births of their daughters, Zreldia Christaline and Vickie Lynn. That happiness was shattered when on January 8, 1958, Nell"s husband, Loyd, and two daughters died in a tragic accident.
Years later Nell moved with her surviving son, Michael, to Moore, Oklahoma, where she continued her professional life as an accountant working for numerous companies. She was also a homemaker, avid collector of bells, ornaments, dolls and jewelry as well as being an exceptional seamstress and crocheted, winning many awards in local and state fairs.
Nell was a long time member of the First Christian Church in Moore. She later met and married Joseph "Joe" Leonard Haun, Jr., on June 17, 1973, and spent many happy years together. Unfortunately, after twenty-three years of marriage, Joe died May 28, 1996.
Nell continued to live in her home for many more years until her own health issues made it necessary for her to move to an assisted living center in Moore, then to Grace Living Center in Mangum, where she spent the remaining years of her life.
Grace Nell is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, first husband Loyd Boswell, daughters Zreldia Christaline and Vickie Lynn, second husband Joe Haun and granddaughter, Mandi Therease. She is survived by one brother, Gilford Olive and wife Jean, of Mangum, one son, Michael Thomas Boswell and wife Judy of Yukon, grandsons, Jon Boswell and wife Maria, Patrick Boswell and wife, Rachel and great grandchildren Rhone, Zander, Emmajean, Onyx and Ondine. She also has many wonderful nieces and nephews with special thanks and gratitude going to Lisa and Steve Richert for providing special care during her stay at Grace Living Center.
Funeral services for Grace Nell Boswell Haun will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel with Delbert Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
