Obituary for Harold Cline Skinner
Harold Cline Skinner, age 69, longtime business and civic leader, died July 13th, 1998 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 1998, 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Mr. Skinner was born March 18, 1929 at Fletcher, OK to James Dee and Carol Cline Skinner. He and his family moved to Altus in 1933. He married Wanda Jeanne McCarty, July 29, 1948 at Ardmore.

He attended Altus Public Schools and Oklahoma Baptist University. He joined his father in Skinner Motor Co. in September 1948. Mr. Skinner served on the Dealer Council of Chrysler Corporation and was selected as Oklahoma Automobile Dealers Association Dealer of the Year in 1981. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of United Supermarkets. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, serving faithfully throughout his life.

Harold Skinner loved the city of Altus and the things for which it stands. He took part in many civic endeavors throughout the years. In 1991, after 50 years in business, he sold Skinner Motor Co. and retired. After his retirement, he enjoyed developing local residential property and traveling with his wife./

Survivors include: his wife, Wanda, of the home; a son, Robert Skinner and wife, Terri and children, Whittney, Grant and Zach, of Carlsbad, NM; a daughter, Frances and her husband, Dr. John Holman, and children, Jason, Robert, Colin, Parker and Haley of Altus; his mother, Mrs. J.D. Skinner of Altus; sister and brother-in-law, Lanita and Guy Southall of Altus; nieces, Lisa Litsch and Sandy Major; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Neil and Patricia Marshall, Longview, TX; and a niece Kathy Baker and nephews, Kevin Marshall and Olynn Marshall.

Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Skinner.
