Heath Holsey, a long-time resident of Blair, Oklahoma passed away February 19, 2024, at the age of forty-six.
On November 23, 1977, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma Jake Heath Holsey was born. Heath was raised and educated in Blair, Oklahoma. During high school Heath was very active, he played basketball, baseball and showed livestock, and competed in rodeos. In 1996 Heath graduated from Blair High School. Following high school Heath attended Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, Oklahoma where he was a member of the rodeo team. He also attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma, where he was a member of the rodeo team in
which he competed in bulldogging. Following college Heath moved to Cooper, Texas where he met and fell in love with Jennifer Henson. Heath and Jennifer were united in marriage at East Delta Baptist Church. On January 23, 2002, Heath's life would change forever as he was blessed with a son Kreighton Holsey. Heath adored his son and cherished being a father. Heath worked in numerous jobs as a mechanic, a welder, and a cowboy. He was a jack of all trades, but he was a master of everything he set his mind to accomplish. With little effort, there wasn't much that Heath couldn't master. He had an eidetic memory, once he read something, he would forever be able to recite it. It wasn't an uncommon site to see Heath reading a mechanical manual just out of interest or for fun. He would use this knowledge to help others. If Heath didn't have an answer, he would tirelessly research something and figure out the best way to fix it. Heath always said he was trapped in the wrong century and always felt he belonged in the 1800s. He had an incredible passion for helping others and would do anything to help a family member, friend, or even a stranger in need. He truly loved people and enjoyed staying in contact with all his friends and family. Heath was also an accomplished chef, who could turn any meal into a culinary masterpiece. He took great pride in his cooking and loved to surprise others with a meal made from scratch. Heath had a deep devotion to the Lord and had a personal relationship with Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Lucille Holsey, and his maternal grandparents J.C. "Jake" and Cathryn (Cain) Fowler.
