Grady moved to Olustee in 1924 and married Beulah Lee Drury in 1927. They lived in the Olustee community until 1954 when they bought their farm Northeast of Altus. Grady and Beulah were married 76 wonderful years. Grady farmed in Jackson County all of his life, raising wheat and cotton, but was best known for his watermelons and peaches. He loved hunting and fishing and did his share of both. Grady was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Grady was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers; a son, Wilton Parker; a daughter, Myrna Wrable; a granddaughter, Rhonda Price; and a granddaughter Michell Cook.
Grady is survived by his wife Beulah, of the home; grandchildren, Danny Thomas of Altus, Oklahoma, Jimmy Butterbaugh of Arlington, Texas, Billy Cook of Houston, Texas, Janet Allen of San Antonio, Texas, Roberta Enright of Midwest City, Oklahoma and David Butterbaugh of Altus, Oklahoma; nine great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family of Grady Parker will greet friends Thursday evening May 20, 2004 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
