Henry Harrison Hoyt
Henry Harrison Hoyt was born April 27, 1910 at Custer, Oklahoma. He died July 17, 1991 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was married to Jane Hunter Hoyt. Mr. Hoyt graduated from Custer High School and attended Oklahoma A & M for four years majoring in accounting. While at A & m he was a member of Sigma Chi and Pi Epsilon Phi. He was voted B.M.O.C. on the campus. He worked for a number of years for Continental Oil Company in the marketing department at Ponca City. He had served in World War II earning the Distinguished Service Cross among other medals. He has lived in Altus the past 39 years, where he owned and operated Hoyt's Furniture and Carpet. He was a member of the Kiwanas Club, Chamber of Commerce and served on a number of Civic Committees. He was a member of Elks Golf and Country Club and served on the Board of Directors..
Me. Hoyt is survived by his wife Laverne Jane Hoyt, Altus, Oklahoma; children, Dr. Timothy H. Hoyt and wife Susan, Oshkosh WI.; Bill Hoyt and wife brenda Lee, Altus, Oklahoma; Lynn Hoyt Sharp, Altus, Oklahoma; sisters, Eileen Engel, Aberdeea, Washington; Billy Moore, Bakersfield, California; Betty Lane, Fort Worth, Texas; Velma Cunningham, Clinton, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
