Hubert Samuel "Butch" Bonds, Jr., age 62, of Blair, passed away late Monday evening, November 4, 2013, at his home, in Blair.
Butch was born in Altus, Oklahoma on May 8, 1951, to Hubert Samuel Bonds, Sr. and Helen Tidwell. While attending Altus High School, he worked at Woods Grocery Store and began working in the carpentry business. Finding his life"s vocation, Butch began working for Coffey Homes, a major building business in Altus for many years. Even after leaving the home building industry, Butch continued remodeling homes and doing different building projects throughout his life. Boating, participating in rodeos and horse-back riding were the hobbies that Butch enjoyed in life, but most of all he loved being with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Butch is daddy to Shane Bonds and wife Heather of Mangum and Crystal Davis and husband Steven of Blair; he is Paw-Paw Butcher to, Ashton Bonds, Farrah Bonds, Taylor Davis and Dixon Davis; survived by two sisters, Delores Smith and husband Charles of Teague, Texas and Virginia Baker of Chickasha; one brother, Gary Don Bonds and wife Cindy of Yukon along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Butch Bonds will be at 11 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2013, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Erin Martinez officiating. The family will greet friends, before the service, from 10 until 11 a.m. Friday. Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
