THOMASON
Irene Webb Thomason, 90, of Corn, Oklahoma and formerly of Mangum, passed way Sunday morning, April 19, 2015, at Corn Heritage Home, in Corn.
Mrs. Thomason was born in Prague, Oklahoma, on August 15, 1924, to William Cleveland and Eula Lee (Rhodes) Webb. She went to the State Basketball Tournament, playing for Centralvue High, and graduated from there in 1943. A longtime member of the Church of Christ, she married Woodrow Wilson Thomason on May 10, 1942 and they enjoyed twenty-nine wonderful years together before his death on April 24, 1971. She was still in High School when he went to the Philippines during WWII. Irene went to work at the old Mangum Hospital in 1966 as a Laboratory Technician and was there until Dr. Lenaburg moved his practice to Granite. She worked for him until he retired and then worked for Pucketts Pharmacy until she retired. She enjoyed fishing and spent many hours with Lorene Galloway and Corene Bex fishing.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Michael Lee Thomason and a daughter-in-law, Donna Marie Thomason. Survivors include a son, Stephen Ray Thomason of Weatherford; seven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; two sisters-in- law, June Thomason of Elk City and Polly Webb of Dallas, Texas and many other relatives and friends
Graveside services for Irene Webb Thomason will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Riverside Cemetery, in Mangum, with Roger Reeves officiating. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
