Obituary for J.C. Crowley
J.C. Crowley, age 76, of Altus, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Plantation Village Nursing Home.
J.C. was born August 28, 1932, in Altus to Elder Judge and Mrs. Olla Crowley. A life-long resident, J.C. attended Lincoln School and the Church of God in Christ.
In 1962, he met Fannie and was united in marriage on December 13, 1991.
J.C. worked for the Altus Cotton Compress for many years. He then worked for the Altus Public Schools for a short time before taking a job with Republic Gypsum. He remained with Republic Gypsum until his retirement.
J.C. loved to go fishing and enjoyed working outside in his yard. His favorite thing, though, was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eleven brothers and sisters; and by four sons.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Fannie of the home; sons, Marvin Crowley of Lubbock, Texas, James Beavers of Garland, Texas, Shaquille Crowley of Altus; Rodney Crowley and Troy Crowley, both of Texas; daughters, Julia Branch of Lubbock, Texas, Glenda Branch also of Lubbock, Sharon Beavers of Oklahoma City, and Alice Porter of Altus. Also surviving are Pamela Lee that he raised as his own, of Oklahoma City; Savoya Crowley of Altus; his sister-in-law, Ginger Crowley of Altus; a foster son, Walter Durrough; a special granddaughter, Yolanda that he raised; a very special niece, Diane Goodson; a special daughter, Melissa and her husband Jeremy Beason; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for JC Crowley will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009, at the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus with Reverend Kenneth Broughton officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.favorite thing, though, was spending time with his family.
