Obituary for Jack Dale Patterson
Funeral servicves for Jack Patterson, age 64, are set for 2:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon at the Olustee First United Methodist Church, with the Reverend E. G. Sifford officiating.
Mr. Patterson was born March 13th, 1921 to Roger and Ona Patterson who were pioneers in
Southwestern Oklahoma. He was married to Virginia Walker in Mangum on September 25,1943. Mr. Patterson had been a long time welding specialist in the oil field industry and retired after 15 years with ARKLA Gas. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and was awarded the Order of the Arrow and the coveted Silver Beaver for his distinguished work in this area. He was also a very active member of the Lions Club and supported the Lions Club Eye Donor program to the fullest. He was a working member of the Olustee First United Methodist Church serving in several important positions.
He is survived by: his wife, Virginia of the home in Olustee; his mother, Mrs. Ona Patterson of Canyon Country, CA; four sons, Roger and Donna Patterson of Panama City Beach, FL, Mike and Jo Ann Patterson of Altus, Jack and Fran Patterson of Odessa, TX and Thomas Patterson of the home in Olustee; two brothers, Vernon Patterson of Folsom, CA and Ted Patterson of Santa Ana, CA; one sister, Peggy Miller of Palmdale, CA; three grandchildren, Chris Patterson of Panama City Beach, FL, Tiffany and Brad Patterson of Altus.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Rex Patterson who died in 1952 and an infant son who died in 1960.
