Obituary for Jackie Phillip Smith
Jackie (Jack) Phillip Smith, a ge 62, of Altus, Oklahoma was born November 2nd, 1934 in Yale, Oklahoma to Leo and Ruth (Lawson) Smith.
Jack attended school in Tulsa; after graduation he entered into the United States Army. He served in the Korean Conflict. Jack married Helen Lorene Gallant June 5, 1961 at Vernon, Texas. Jack and Helen had made their home in Altus for 35 years. Jack was employed for Bargain City for 18 years, then later worked for Petkoff Furnishings as Store Manager.
Graveside Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 21, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altus City Cemetery with Capt. Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include: his Mother, Ruth Smith Martinez of Altus, Oklahoma; his wife, Helen Lorene Smith of the home; three children, Connie Jo Morris and husband Ken of Florence, SC, Jackie Annette Moore and husband Alan of Altus, OK and Mary Lucille Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, Al Martinez of Long Beach, CA; two sisters, Nancy Morris of Coyle, OK and Mary Ellen Langston of Oklahoma City, OK; seven grandchildren, Jackie Lorene, Brian Joseph, Ashley Lyn, James Alan, Daniel Joseph, John Thomas, David Wayne and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his Father, Leo Smith; Step-Father, Felix Martinez, Sr.; two brothers, Kenneth Smith and Felix Martinez, Jr.
