James Aaron Shirley, age 78, of Altus, passed away February 19, 1982, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
James was born April 7, 1903 in Blackgum, Indian territory, Oklahoma, to Andrew Jackson and Judy (Rogers) Shirley. He married Madine Ellis in Friendship February 25, 1925. He had lived in southwest Oklahoma most of his life.
Funeral services for James Aaron Shirley are scheduled for Monday, February 22, 1982 at 10am at the First Baptist Church, Altus, officiated by Rev. Keith Wiginton. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
James is survived by his wife, Madine, of the home in Altus; two daughters, Edna Mae Schultz, Altus; Norma Lea Southall, Altus, one grandson, David Schultz, Altus, brother, Daniel Shirley, Altus, two great grandchildren, Candace and Beadon Schultz.
James was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brenda Schultz in 1971; one brother, Bennie Shirley. of Mangum, Oklahoma in 1972.
