Obituary for James Alden Weathers
James A. "Jimmy" Weathers passed away Wednesday, December 15th, 2010 in Oklahoma City. He was born January 5, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas to John and Mary (Thomason) Weathers. He moved to the Altus area as a young child and attended and graduated from Navajo High School.
On April 21, 1984, Jimmy and Marcia Rumbo were united in marriage in their home in Altus where they still lived. Jimmy worked in all areas of construction, most recently as a roofer for Brox Industries in Lawton. He was well known for his selfless personality. It was a common occurrence for a friend to call him for advice on a repair or remodel project and for Jimmy to just show up with tools in hand to help. He loved his profession and freely spent his time on these projects. He also loved antique cars and trucks. He had a beautiful antique pickup that he drove during Cruise Night. His greatest love in life was his family. He adored his grandchildren and took them out to eat or for ice cream as often as possible.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, John and Mary Weathers; a brother, John Joe Weathers and by two infant brothers.
Jimmy is lovingly survived by his wife, Marcia of the home in Altus; four children, Jason McQuiggan of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Forrest Weathers and wife Christina of Altus, Kris McQuiggan and wife Kelli of Altus, and Shawnna Weathers Pence and husband Jerimy of Elmer; 12 grandchildren, Levi Hoffman, Khristianna McQuiggan, Mariya McQuiggan, Kailea Davlin, Brayden Weathers, Emily Weathers, Jacinda McQuiggan, Mackenzie Wood, Brianna McQuiggan, Malorie Wood, Hunter Pence and Baylee Pence; one sister, Rosemary Wiley and husband John of Olustee; and by one brother, Dwight Weathers and wife Nioma Weathers also of Olustee; and by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Bobby Jones and Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will received guest from 6:30 until 8:30 Friday evening at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
