Obituary for James Burton Crawford
James Crawford passed away September 28, 1990 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Services were held at the Emanuel Baptist Church at 2:00 pm Monday September 30, 1990 with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating.
He was born James Burton Crawford on November 11, 1929 to parents Guthrie G and Katherine (Ashworth) Crawford in Altauista, Virginia. He married Rebecca Weeks on July 1, 1950 at Altauista. He retired from the US Air Force in 1980 after 27 years of service. He then worked with the Civil Service at the Altus Air Force Base. James was a member of the Masonic Tyrian lodge #111 in Georgia and taught Sunday School at Emanuel Baptist Church where he was a long time member.
James Burton Crawford is survived by his wife, Rebecca of the home in Altus, Oklahoma; four sons, David Crawford, Altus, Oklahoma, Donald Crawford, Little Rock, Arkansas, Mike Crawford, Lauren, Maryland and Dennis Crawford, Stillwater, Oklahoma; two brothers, Guthrie Crawford, Kokomo , Indiana and Audrey Crawford, Eufaula Alabama; one sister, Barbara Crawford, Fayetteville, N. C.; two granddaughters and four grandsons.
