Obituary for James David Laws
James David Laws, Sr.

Services for James David Laws, Sr. 77, are scheduled for 2:00 saturday, October 26, at the Frederick Funeral Home Chapel. burial will follow at the Frederick Cemetery. The Revs. R.K. Miles and Jack Harris will officiate.

Mr. Laws died October 18, at the Comanche County Hospital in Lawton. Born December 4, 1913 in Caldwell, Texas to Zeke and Sarah Laws he spent his early childhood in Caldwell. On October 30, 1943 he married Dessie Manuel in Bryant, Texas. Mr. Laws worked for the police department in Hollis as well as a custodian and dispatcher in latter years in Frederick where he had resided since 1963. Mr. Laws was a deacon of the Friendship Baptist Church of Frederick. Mr. Laws body will lie in state at the Lowell-Tims funeral Home in Altus until 12:00 pm Wednesday, then the body will lie in state at the Frederick Funeral Home until service time Saturday.

Me. Laws is survived by his wife, Dessie Laws of the home, children, James Laws Jr. Altus, Oklahoma; Loraine Riggins, Lubbock, Texas; Cora Lee Lipscomb, Altus, Oklahoma; Elvira L. Winn, Hollis, Oklahoma; brothers, Willie Hefner, Salt Lake, City, Utah; Theodore Wiggins, Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters, Satie Earthly, Salt Lake City, Utah; Lillie Mae Nickerson, Salt Lake City, Utah; twenty-four grandchildren, fourty-three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.


Mr. Laws was preceded in death by his parents.
