Obituary for James Evans
James "Jimmy" Evans was born May 15th, 1946 at Jackson, Tennessee. He was the son of the late James M. Evans and his mother Rebecca (Futrell) Evans. He died April 11th, 1998 in Altus, Oklahoma. He married Nancy Oakley June 9, 1968 at Humboldt,TN. He served in the U.S. Air Force over 20 years and retired at the rank of Lt Col. He was then employed as a Flight Simulator Instructor for Boeing. He received his B.S. Degree from Lambath College in Jackson, Tennessee, and his Master's from Webster University. He was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Evans of the home; two daughters, Ashley Evans Southard and husband Bill of Blanchard, OK and Whitney Cheshier Evans of Stillwater, OK; his mother, Rebecca (Futrell) Evans of Jackson, TN; two brothers, Jerry Evans of Huntsville, AL and Joe Evans of Albuquerque, NM.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial Services are scheduled for Monday, April 13, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev Ken Pate officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
