Obituary for James Peter Brown
James Peter Brown, age 77, of Altus, Oklahoma, was born August 7th, 1918 in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the son of the late James P. and Delia (Daughtery) Brown, Sr. Mr. Brown passed away Thursday, January 25th, 1996, in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Memorial Services will be at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 1996 in the Altus Air Force Base Chapel with Chaplain Raymond J. Perez. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 1996 in the Saint Bernard Cemetery, Bradford, Pennsylvania with local arrangements under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home, Altus, OK.
Before coming to Altus, Mr. Brown lived in Del Rio, TX. Prior to that he had lived in California where he retired from TransAmerica Airlines as a flight engineer. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include: three sons, James P. Brown III of West Palm, FL, Mark Sean Brown of Sacramento, CA, Peter Joseph Brown of Petaluma, CA; two daughters, Cindy Caponera and husband Fred of Roseville, CA and Marsha Junkins and husband Steven of Altus, OK; two sisters, Caroline Landon of Ontario, Canada and Francis Conner of Westport, CT; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
