Obituary for James Roy Walker
Funeral Services have been set for Roy Walker, age 93, who passed away Friday, January 16th, 1987 evening at his home in Eldorado. Services will be held at the First Methodist Church on Monday, January 19, 1987 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Elbert Shumaker officiating, assisted by Rev. Kenneth Coleman.
Mr. Walker was born in Thackerville, Indian Territory, Oklahoma on January 12, 1894. He moved to Eldorado community in 1899 and farmed there until his retirement. He was married to Amy Ruth Massey November 26, 1919 and she preceded him in death September 4, 1968. Mr. Walker married Mildred Cooper on December 26, 1970.
Survivors include: his wife, Mildred, of the home; one son, Lowery Walker of Eldorado; one step-son, Rennie Cooper of Martha, OK; one step-daughter, LaWonda Vaughn of Pauls Valley, OK; two sisters, Ima White of Rockwell, TX and Thelma Mayberry of Costa Mesa, CA; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by one son, Denzil Walker and one daughter, Leafy Leah Walker.
Mr. Walker will lie in state at the Lowell Funeral Chapel in Eldorado Sunday and Monday until the service time. Arrangements are by Lowell Funeral Home of Altus and Eldorado.
