He married Virginia Southall August 9, 1939 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He lived in the Altus area all of his life and was farmer/ginner. He was a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services for James Travis Phillips are scheduled for 10:00am Saturday, December 20, 1069 in Tims Chapel officiated by Rev. Noel George and Rev. Bill Davis. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
James Travis Phillips is survived by his wife Virginia of the home; Robert James Phillips, in the Army stationed in Germany; Travis Wayne Phillips, Woodward, Oklahoma; Andy Phillips, of the home; Timmy Phillips of the home; Tom Phillips of the home; two daughters, Marilyn Cobb, Altus, Oklahoma; Carolyn Fox, Boaz, Alabama; six grandchildren, Mae Anderson Reseda, California; one brother, Weldon Phillips, Cypress, California, three sisters, Mrs. Ann Stewart, Savannah, Georgia; Mrs. Louise Batullis, Downey, California; Mrs Betty Logan Reseda, California.
