James Wilbon Hamilton



James Wilbon Hamilton, 81, of Altus died at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in st. Louis Missouri Friday. Funeral services have been set for Tuesday at 2:00pm in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel, 1100 East Tamarack road. Officiating will be Bill Osborne. Burial will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Hamilton was born November 28, 1909 in Fannin County, Texas. He was the son of James and Iva Hamilton. He moved to the Altus area over 55 years ago from Texas and was retired from the Altus-Ligert Irrigation District. He married Erma Ruth White September 27, 1933 at Elmer, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife, Erma Ruth Hamilton of the home; two children, Pat Adelman of Baldwin, Missouri; Daryl Hamilton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three brothers, Willard Hamilton, J.D. Hamilton, and Jimmie Hamilton all of Oklahoma City; one sister, Ina Mae Southall of Altus, six grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Raymond Hamilton.
