Obituary for James Wilford Richeson
James Wilford Richeson, age 88, died early Wednesday morning at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2:30 P.M. Friday afternoon at the Eldorado First Baptist Church with the Reverend Kenneth Coleman officiating and the Reverend Lavern Laing assisting. Burial was in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Mr. Richeson was born on March 1st, 1896 in Seymour, TX. Less than three years later (1899) he traveled north to their new home in a wagon. Crossing the Red River near Quanah, Texas they homesteaded near what is now Eldorado on a farm which is still in the Richeson family as of today.

Mr. Richeson was a well-known Jackson County farmer and rancher. He was brought up in a family with long time roots in the Baptist church and in 1965 he was baptized by the Reverend Walter Knox at the Eldorado First Baptist Church.

On October 2, 1922 he was married to Effie Mae Freeman in Altus. He was a WWI veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and the Eldorado First Baptist Church. He also served as Chairman of the Eldorado City Council for a number of years.
