Obituary for Janet W. Cannady
Janet White Cannady, born April 9, 1935, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Frederick and Josephine White, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 13th, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. Janet is survived by her loving husband, Donald Wayne, her high school sweetheart with whom she was joyfully reunited with after 50 years; her four proud children, Cheryl Milloy, Eric Dawley, Marc Dawley, and Karen Schofield; her dear two brothers and sister, Houston White, Joe Fred White, and Charlotte Schroeder; her five treasured grandchildren, Jeffrey Milloy, Jamie Milloy, Travis Milloy, Elaine Dawley, and Dana Schofield; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Bridgette. Janet was an extraordinary mother who shared her love of reading and music with her children; a legacy that has been passed down to her grandchildren. Janet had a beautiful voice and sang in choirs from an early age, including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Janet graduated from Granite High School in 1953, and attended Oklahoma East Central University. Her banking and human resources career brought her to DART where she retired in 2000. Rising up to paradise, she is shining down on all of us. Services were held April 16, 2006 in Elgin, Oklahoma.
