THOMASON
Jeannetta Thomason, age 87, of Eldorado, passed away Monday afternoon, June 3, 2013, at her residence, in Eldorado.
Mrs. Thomason was born in Eldorado on May 25, 1926, to Roy K. and Leona (Hutchinson) Spencer. On November 26, 1946, she married R.E. "Edwin" Thomason and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2010, after sixty-three wonderful years of marriage.
Jeannetta was a devoted, loving, Christian wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. She gave of herself unselfishly to each and everyone. Her home was always open for family gatherings, doing the majority of the cooking herself. Her cooking was exceptional, having perfected her skill while cooking for the numerous harvest hands she fed 3 times a day during the harvest season. Jeannetta and R.E. spent well over 40 years traveling the wheat harvest from Oklahoma to Montana. She worked without complaining, for no recognition, from early morning to late at night.
She will be forever missed by her devoted children Elaine Gunkel and husband Kenneth of Elgin, Mike Thomason and wife Mary of Eldorado and Kim Henderson and husband John of Eldorado; the loving joy of her life, six grandchildren, Grant Gunkel and wife Tia, Greg Gunkel and wife Janna, Chad Thomason, Casey Thomason Smith, Ashley Henderson Mueller and husband Chad, and Travis Henderson; eight great grandchildren, Taylor Gunkel, Tanner Gunkel, Logan Gunkel, Ella Gunkel, Camden Mueller, Makenzie Smith, Reece Gunkel and Ava Graves; three sisters, Kata Werner of Claremont, Florida, Nona Burkett of Yuma, Arizona and Tina Babek of Clinton, Oklahoma along with many other relatives and friends. Jeannetta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one sister, Aline Lanza and two brothers, Billy C. Spencer and Roy Edwin Spencer.
Graveside services for Jeannetta Thomason will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Eldorado Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Eldorado.
The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, in Eldorado, from 6 until 7 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2013.
