CANEDO
Jeannine Henriette (Moni") Canedo, age 83 of Altus, Oklahoma and formerly of Laredo, Texas, passed away late Friday evening on April 1, 2016 at the English Village Nursing Home in Altus.
Jeannine was born in Montauban, France on March 26, 1933 to her parents Julien Boniface and Germaine Moni". When she was 18 her parents died in an automobile accident and it was around that time she met an Air Force Airmen and they soon after married and Jeannine moved to the United States. She received a Master"s Degree and worked as a Librarian for elementary schools in Colorado and later worked for the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind where she worked with braille and sign language. Later she moved to Laredo, Texas and continued to work and recently moved to Altus, Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter Michele. Jeannine enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter Stephanie and great grandson Jeremiah Molina; Jeannine is survived by one son, Richard Canedo and his wife Lisa of Colorado; one daughter, Michele Canedo of Altus; five grandchildren, Aubrey, Alli, Richie, Ashley, and Joe; three great grandchildren, Alize, Alexis, and Jacob; as well as many other family members and friends.
Private family cremation services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
