Obituary for Jerry Harris
Jerry Harris age 64 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, June 25, 1997 at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas, Texas after a brief illness with Cancer. Jerry was born October 2, 1932 at Jasper, Texas to the late Ogle and Nita (Martin) Harris. Jerry attended school in Jasper and Waco, Texas. He entered the United States Air Force in 1952 and retired in 1973 from Altus Air Force Base. On July 26, 1956 Jerry and Pearl Virginia Love were united in marriage at Quanah, Texas. He served in Thailand during the Vietnam Era. Most of his career he had been stationed at The Altus Air Force Base. After retirement he had worked for several companies in the Altus area. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 1997 at 1):))am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery with Full Military Honors under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife Virginia Harris of the home; children, Clifford Harris and Barbara of Altus, Oklahoma, Tommy Harris and Debi of DeSoto, Texas, Debbie Harris of Dallas, Texas, Lindia Harris of Dallas, Texas, Barbara Harris of Dallas; brothers Lynn Harris and Betty of Nederland, Texas, Doyle Harris and Mary and Irene, Texas, Jimmy Harrie and Annie Lou of Abilene, Texas, Bill and Minnie Harris of Austin, Texas, Joe Harris and Jean of Jasper, Texas; Sisters Joyce Midkiff and David of Jasper, Texas, Reba Milner and Bud of Terrel, Texas, Virginia West of Jasper, Texas, Ouida Blakledge and Junior of San Angelo, Texas, Avalon Cowan and R.L. of san Angelo, Texas, sister, Francis grice and Morris of Mertzon, Texas, three grandsons, Anthony Harris, Jerry Dale Harris, Jesse Harris all of DeSoto, Texas; sister-in-law Billie Harris of Weatherford, Texas.
