Obituary for Jerry Mac Stayton
Jerry Mac Stayton, age 58, of Altus, Oklahoma, was born November 28th, 1937, in Altus, Oklahoma the son of the late William A. and Mary Ruth (Williams) Stayton. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He served in the National Guard for many years. Jerry passed away Monday, September 23rd, 1996, in the Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis, Oklahoma, after a sudden illness.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 1996, in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. T.O. Parsons and Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

On January 8, 1966, he and Phyllis Kay Sherman were united in marriage at Hess, OK. Jerry was a friend to many, and to many a friend. He was employed with Southwest Sales for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. The family will be receiving visitors at the Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Stayton, of the home; two children, Norma Jean Stayton and Mary Naomi Stayton, both of Altus, Oklahoma; two brothers, Edward L. Stayton and David D. Stayton, both of Altus, Oklahoma; two sisters, Virginia Glenday of Greenville, TX and Karen of Mesquite, TX; two aunts, Mattie Montgomery of Chickasha, OK and Wyma Stayton of Moore, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents; his parents; and a brother, Coy Stayton.
