Jerry Saveron Starkey was born January 21, 1897 in Harrison, Arkansas to I. J. Starkey and Emily Roland Starkey. He died March 2, 1967 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma. He has lived in Altus since 1906 and was married to his wonderful wife on January 6th, 1918 in Headrick, Oklahoma. They shared 51 years of marriage. Jerry was a carpenter by trade and belonged to the Carpenters Union #285 and the America Legion. He served our country during World War 1. Mr. Starkey is survived by his wife of the home, three sisters: Mrs Fred McElhose, Miss Hettie Starkey and Miss Trena Starkey, all of Altus, Oklahoma, one brother, Burton Starkey also of Altus, Oklahoma, two nephews: John and Burtram McElhose of California and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Jerry Saveron Starkey are scheduled for 2;00 P.M. Saturday, March 4th, 1967 at Tims Chapel of Memories with Rev. David Welker and Rev Gene Garrison officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
