Obituary for Jess Riley Gordon
Mr. Jess Riley Gordon, age 57, of 1133 Hickory, Altus, died June 25th, 1976 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services have been set for 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 28, 1976 at Tims Chapel with the Reverend Bill Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Cemetery under direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Gordon was born October 4th, 1918 and he married the former Edith Marie Noble in Stamford on November 1, 1941. He was a Veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge and A.F.G.E., he was also associated with United for many years. He worked as a meat cutter at the Altus AFB Commissary until he retired. He was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Edith, of the home; one daughter, Sandra Kay Alewine of Galveston, TX; one son, Mehael Robert Gordon of Altus; four grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Bassett of Oklahoma City; his Father, Robert Gordon of Altus; his Mother, Mrs. Lee Harris of Oklahoma City.
