Obituary for Jesus T. Marceleno
Jesus T. Marceleno, age 91, passed away Saturday in Altus at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Jesus was born January 26, 1908, in Mexico to Anastasio and Setera (Torres) Marceleno. In November of 1929, he and Placida Gueterrez, were united in marriage in Midland, Texas. Placida passed away in October, 1956.
Mr. Marceleno was a farm laborer, and he and his family moved to the Altus area in 1949 from Odessa, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army and was discharged at Fort Bliss, Texas, on September 2, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his wife Placida Marceleno and children, Inez Marceleno, Juan Marceeleno, Serviano (Sam) Marceleno, Inosenta (Nena) Rosales-Marceleno and Miguel Marceleno.
Mr. Marceleno is survived by a daughter Juliana Benibamonde of Altus and sons Cruz Marceleno of Palmetto, Florida; Manuel Marceleno of Elk City, Oklahoma; Jesus Marceleno, Jr. and Mack Marceleno of Altus, Oklahoma; forty-two grandchildren, ninety-three great-grandchildren, seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday evening at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus with Father Joseph Jocobi officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.
